Rayna Catherina is the Volunteer Coordinator for GLBL VLLG'S Manifest Festival which is happening this Saturday August 3rd from 3PM-Midnight. GLBL VLLG is an INTERACTIVE entertainment company defining URBAN WELLNESS and celebrating the creative spirit in all people and the social connection we all share through music, art, and well-being. Manifest is an interactive entertainment and wellness festival aimed at celebrating the creative spirit in all people and the social connection we all share through music, art, and well-being. GLBL VLLG will focus on embodying the 8 dimensions of Wellness (social, environmental, physical, emotional, spiritual, occupational, intellectual, and financial.)

Tyrique Glasgow is the Founder and Executive Driector of The Young Chances Foundation. Young Chances Foundation (YCF) was created in 2012, as a program created to provide Urban Children with the opportunity to have fun, strengthen family relationships, build positive leadership skills through peer motivated activities, and having resources to help assist with general Information to encourage Higher Education. Tyique's journey is a must listen if you want to go into your day feeling like a super human that can achieve anything. Tyrique recently invited us to his new foundation at the corner of 27th and Tasker to talk about the violence, poverty, and miseducation that plague many neighborhoods in Philadelphia. He feels like he has found a solution and we are happy to share his message to our listeners.

Joe Cox is the Founder of the PMA(positive mental attitude) Bike Ride and a City Council Candidate in the upcoming election. As the Founder of the PMA Bike Ride he has fed thousands of hungry Philadelphian's and inspired many to start their own movements to help spread positivity to those who need it most. We recently volunteered with the PMA Bike Ride at Kensington and Allegheny and were lucky enough to experience the joy that this movement is creating. Joe recently invited us into his home to talk about what influenced him to feed the hungry and his vision to make Philadelphia a place that values taking care of it's most vulnerable citizens.

Shafia started as a Volunteer and has made a career out of helping others get in touch with their giving side. Over the past decade Muslims Serve has been in the streets of Philadelphia combating hunger at it's source. This is an episode you are sure to not want to miss because of the positive energy that can be felt throughout our discussion. On this episode of the Podcast we sit down with the Senior Advisor of one of the biggest event Philly hosts every year, The Philly Pride Parade. Chuck Volzs is the Senior Advisor to the organization, Philly Pride Presents, which is responsible for putting on the event every year. Chuck has been volunteering with them for over 25 years and has been living in Philadelphia has a gay man for over 40 years. We are also joined by one of my senior students Keyana Whaley. During this episode Keyana has her own beliefs challenged and comes out of the interview a more understanding person. On This episode of the podcast we are joined by Allan Silverberg and my student Kassim Karamoko. Allan is the Committee Chairman for the Holocaust Remembrance Education Program. This program recently visited our school, One Bright Ray Community High School to speak to us about the events of the Holocaust and the hate that it was spawned from. After Allan shared with us what he experienced, we wanted to help him in anyway that we could. So we decided to help him spread the word about his upcoming event the Ride for The Living 2019 where he will be riding a bicycle from Auschwitz to Krakow, Poland. That is a 60 mile bicycle ride ! which is equivalent from riding from Philadelphia to Atlantic City. Allan is raising money for the Jewish Community Center of Krakow Poland. He needs help to raise 3,000 dollars before his race on June 28th 2019.

Repair the World: Philadelphia partners with local and community-based organizations like the West Philadelphia Alliance for Children and Broad Street Ministry as it seeks to build a kinder and more equitable city.
